If you want to achieve celebrity style on a mere mortal’s budget, you just need some inside info! Dress like a superstar for a fraction of the price with these three must-have items.
Play around with playsuits and jumpsuits
Everywhere you look, celebs are having fun in playsuits. This year, stylish silky jumpsuits and cute pinafore style playsuits are big news, with celebrities dressing them up with floaty feminine blouses and to-die-for heels.
Made in Chelsea’s Millie Mackintosh was seen stepping out in a smart black pinafore style playsuit, which was glammed up with a white lacy blouse and matching sandals.
Meanwhile, model Miranda Kerr showed us how to pull off a jumpsuit at the premiere of The Great Gatsby, where she wore a sleek orchid-print on black jumpsuit with a pair of nude sandals.
Get the look for less by hitting the high street, where a bumper selection of playsuits and jumpsuits awaits. New Look’s Parisian white sunflower crochet playsuit, with contrasting brown belt, would look a million dollars with a pair of nude sandals like Miranda’s – but is priced at just £24.99!
Blazers are a girl’s best friend. More stylish than a cardigan, blazers are ultra-versatile and, if chosen wisely, can look a lot more expensive than they actually were!
Beyonceì wears them with short shorts and killer heels, while Kate Moss recently wore a black tuxedo style blazer with a white dress and black stilettos. But the favourite way has to be with a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. Celebs photographed working the blazer and jeans include Amanda Peet, who teamed ripped turned up jeans with a beige blazer and nude sandals for a laid-back look.
This season, there is a huge choice of blazers and ladies jackets on the high street. Go bold like Beyonceì in coral or mint, hit the town in a black zip pocket tuxedo like Kate, or invest in a multifunctional blazer that looks just as good with a dress as it does with ripped jeans. New Look’s roll sleeve jersey blazer in shell pink or navy (£19.99) could take you everywhere – from Primrose Hill to lunch with the girls to dinner with your leading man.
Funk it up in print dresses
Bright and bold, celebs are turning heads and setting photographers’ lights flashing everywhere in funky printed dresses.
Kelly Brook is a fan of printed bodycon dresses, regularly appearing on the celebrity pages showing off her curvy figure in all-over prints. While Kelly likes to show a bit of leg, maxi dresses are equally popular with celebs, including Mylene Klass, who was spotted in a chic geometric print maxi.
The good news is deceptively affordable dresses, including New Look’s moncochrome and neon pink ‘love’ print midi dress (just £14.99), can be found across the high street.
So there you have it: three celeb-style items for under £60 in total!
