Lizzie Cundy at Scottish Fashion Awards

Lizzie Cundy was just agog with excitement about the Scottish Fashion Awards, and her enthusiasm was not misplaced, judging by the slew of celebrities and fashion icons who showed up for the festivities on Wednesday night.  The show took place at the Glasgow Science Centre, which the founder and producer, Tessa Hartmann, said is a great representation of 21st century Scotland.

Lizzie, model, TV presenter and former WAG, said she had never been to Scotland before but she adores Glasgow and she’s a great fan of Scottish fashion.  In fact she was wearing (she said) tartan underwear beneath her bright red mini-dress, but apparently no one got a picture.  Lizzie did get to mingle with a lot of the bold and the beautiful, including Dame Shirley Bassey, who also wore tartan, in her case a dress designed by Graeme Black, and she looked quite stunning in it.

Samantha Cameron was there, in a lime green dress by Scottish designer Christopher Kane, to present the top award.  She said she was delighted to be a part of the awards as Ambassador to the British Fashion Council.  She also commented that the Fashion Awards are a good reminder of Scotland’s world-famous textiles, as well as a showcase for its inspired designers.

Other famous figures clad in various designers’ creations included Lulu, male super-model David Gandy, Jean Johannson and her footballer husband Jonatan and many others.  Every one of them seemed to be having a great time, and the event is being hailed as a rousing success.
