Madonna’s new clothing range now worldwide

Madonna’s new clothing range, previously only available in america is now online for shoppers world wide.  Her range of footwear, accessories and junior clothing is due to be launched in the spring of 2011 via Hudson Bay.  HBC is a leading Canadian retailer of fashion and recently announced that they now have in place a license agreement which places them as the manufacturer and distributor of Madonna’s “Material Girl” range of clothing.  The brand will initially be available in 91 shop across Canada.  This is the beginning of an ambitious plan of expansion for Madonna’s brand.

The junior collection known as “Fast fashion” was launched this summer in the US at Macy’s department store.  The line is a collaboration between Madonna and her 13 year old daughter Lourdes, and  Iconix Taylor Momsen, star of the hit tv series Gossip Girl is the brand spokesperson.

Rompers, sequin leggings, faux leather cropped biker jackets and body suits show that the Grunge meets glam rock 80’s inspired line is going to be popular.  The price range is very affordable too.  Accessories are from 10 euros to 30 euros and the clothes range in price from 12 euros to 45 euros.

The plan world wide expansion of Madonna’s clothing range is an interesting development since most celebrity lines are only available in the US.  For example, reality star Lauren Conrad’s line “LC Lauren Conrad” was only available from US retailer Kohl’s and Sean Combs’ line, “Sean John” was only sold in departments stores like Macy’s.
