Being named as the cover girl for the prestigious Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition is often seen as the pinnacle of a model’s career; yet newcomer Kate Upton has secured the most coveted job in US modelling circles at the tender age of just 19.
Kate is in demand elsewhere too, having recently featured in a rather risqué photo shoot for Esquire Magazine in which she slowly takes a pair of scissors to the revealing outfit she is wearing, until she is left almost naked, with only her arms to cover her in-demand curves.
Blonde Kate has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame during 2011, featuring in several magazine shoots as well as working on advertising campaigns for both Guess Jeans and popular lingerie brand, Victoria’s Secret; a match made in heaven according to Kate’s legions of male fans.
One year ago, Kate was named Rookie Of The Year in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, after posing in an impossibly tiny, striking red bikini. And just twelve months later the teenager has secured the job as cover girl for 2012′s magazine.
Kate has many other talents besides her stunning figure and catwalk model looks. She has been a keen equestrian since she was a young girl and even won several competitions as a teenager, though she has been unable to spend as much time with her horses since her modelling career took off.
According to US gossip magazines, the young star may well have another distraction to keep her away from the stables; she is reportedly dating Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez with the attractive couple having been pictured together on a number of occasions.
Kate is determined to not end up pigeon-holed as just a model, and has already appeared in her first feature film, “Tower Heist”, alongside Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy, with a role in the upcoming remake of the “The Three Stooges” too.
