Vintage at Goodwood, Lily Allen’s ‘Lucy in Disguise’

‘Creative British cool’ is one way to describe the first annual festival celebrating the best of the art, music and fashion from the 1940s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.  Vintage at Goodwood started today, 13 August and runs through Sunday 15 August, and you can still get tickets online or on site at the Goodwood Estates in West Sussex, one of the most beautiful spots in Britain.

The festival is the result of a labour of love on the part of Geraldine and Wayne Hemingway, co-founders of Red or Dead, and many others whose knowledge and appreciation of the respective and distinctive ‘pop’ cultures of the decades from the forties through the eighties make this a remarkable event.

Three runway shows each day will feature vintage line-ups from the successive ‘epochs’, as well as the debut of Lily Allen’s new line called ‘Lucy in Disguise’ with her signature vintage selections and some of her own designs.

Also on site there are five clubs representing the different decades including a forties-style nightclub, a Seventies ballroom, an Eighties roller disco and a Sixties “let ‘er rock” dance club.  The presenters have created an authentic and fully operational High Street complete with an Oxfam store and an IWC Schaffhausen clock tower along with an unparalleled line-up of vintage treasures.
